Packaging design

& product development services

I’ve been working with and creating new brands for about 15 years – across all industry areas.
Having started my career in print and publishing, I also know more than most about the intricate details of print design and management both for publications but importantly for packaging design and their specific requirements.

A number of my clients manufacture physical products – particularly in the food and homeware markets, both of which I’m an expert in.

Having designed and branded the likes of Awfully Posh, Dendy Fine Foods and some still in the pipeline – for the past 6 years I’ve been working with Ian Middleton “AKA: Brand Commander” designing new ranges in the homeware market for the likes of ASDA & TESCO, and more.

CASE STUDY 1:
AWFULLY POSH.
Branding & product design.

Awfully Posh is the brainchild of Tom Lock who decided about 15 years ago to create a premium brand of bar snacks – initially solely as Pork “scratchings”.

The initial packaging design and branding I created for him is still going strong – and I believe about to go stellar!

PS you can buy the Pork, biltong and olive ranges in all good retailers such as Waitrose

CASE STUDY 2:
TESCO (1) FOX & IVY.
Packaging design, range & product development

Working freelance as head of design for The Refinery for many years, one of my favourite projects was for Smythe House, a London based financial services company.

Integral to my design included bespoke photography. So I briefed and art directed one of my go-to London-based photographers to deliver precisely my creative vision.

Designed in 2012 I hope this design still stands the test of time.

CASE STUDY 3:
PHOTOBUS.
Website design & development – & to integrate to the clients & users online purchasing systems

A dear friend of mine came to me with one of his many business ideas and needed a functioning website to deliver his business model.

Photobus is, as it implies, – an American trailer – which could be put into any party or corporate event – and would take pictures of the guests which they could both print out there and then and later, buy, download & distribute through social media.

The website therefore involved both the front end design as well as integrating the back-end set up to work as an online shop.

CASE STUDY 4:
CABCALC.
Branding, UI and App design.

CabCalc is an accounts management App – available in IoS and Android.

Inspired and created by a taxi driver who wanted to make his life simpler.

Logo design, User Interface (UI) and icon design as well as screen design CabCalc is a simple principle that could be applied to almost any cash-based small business model (with design modifications).
